The american car industry... Are you ready to trust it?

Its true, the American car companies sure seem to be making quite a recovery from the years past, but does this mean we can trust them to produce cars worth a crap? I am not so confident. As of this moment American cars of scoring high in initial quality and we even seem to be making some cars that can actually turn a corner without hitting a tree. But i just cant shake the feeling that when that lovely powerful engine hits that 150,000 mark, it will erupt in flames. Just as recent as 2004 my father bought a Ford Escape that had nothing but the best dealer maintenance and care which at 160k and 7 years later produced a catastrophic rod knock killing the entire car beyond economical repair. So what did he do? found an old Honda with right around 150,000 miles because he wanted something reliable. It is my hope in another 7 years some of these domestic engines will be able to make it to well over 200k without serious work and with power plants like the new Eco-boost engine going in to some ford trucks, I may be proven wrong, but until that time you can blame me for killing the economy because i wont be buying another American car.

Cars, trucks and motorcycles... may they live forever

My intention with this blog is to share my experiences with the world of motoring. You may not agree with the things i say but as long as we keep a passion for the drive i think i am getting somewhere.
